Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTM Award(s): 0 ![]() | The Rainbow Six Vegas MP Guide Well, I was thinking of making a guide for those who are new to RSV so they can get a head start. Most of this stuff is not my work, but yet a compilation of numerous and reputable sources. A sticky would be sweetness. #.01 note: RAPPEL I hear people say this ****ing wrong EVERYTIME. Not once, not twice, not twenty, etc...but EVERYTIME. I correct them, and they're like "doe-yee...okay." But what? They say it wrong AGAIN. So how to say the word "rappel": Rap-Pell. NOT rap-uhll. It doesn't rhyme with apple, my gosh. #1: HOW ARMOR WORKS Source Also Alec for mentioning the way it goes in basics. Anyhow, Armor works on THREE armor categories. These correspond with your "armor rating" that is in your setup screen. There is light(0-3), medium(4-6), and heavy(7-10). How the armor works disregards WHERE your armor is placed. It is all about the overal "armor rating" that you receive. You can wear armor on your left leg and not your right, but you will be protected so far as your overall armor category goes. Basically, your protection is HOW MUCH armor you are wearing, rather than WHERE you are wearing it. Now, a single bullet to the head will have an instant kill on you, regardless of your armor category. Suggested armor ratings: 0protection and 10mobility 4protection and 6mobility 10protection and 0mobility With the suggested ratings, you can reach the full potential of your armor category without losing anything. You can wear 3armor and 7mobility, but you would be AS PROTECTED as someone with 0armor and 10mobility. Therefore, with 0armor, you are protected AS MUCH but you gain 3 points of mobility. The armor that you choose to wear and a helmet is really basically just cosmetic. ![]() #2: YOUR RANKING Source Enlisted Ranks in points Private 2nd Class ... Start Private 1st Class ... 3000 Specialist ... 8400 Corporal ... 14500 Sergeant ... 23500 Staff Sergeant ... 38500 Sergeant 1st Class ... 56500 Master Sergeant ... 82500 First Sergeant ... 109500 Sergeant Major ... 139000 Officer Ranks 2nd Lieutenant ... 172000 1st Lieutenant ... 214000 Captain ... 264000 Major ... 330000 Lt. Colonel ... 415000 Colonel ... 535000 Elite ... 675000 Notice how it gets increasingly more difficult to rank up. The higher you rank up, the more things you can get (armor, clothing, guns.) #3: WHAT WEAPONS TO USE? Source for weapon ratings Most of this is from personal experience. If you looked earlier at section 1, you would have learned that a bullet to the head is an insta-kill. If that is true(which is IS), then wouldn't accuracy be more important than power? Sometimes it isn't if you can't aim whatsoever, but for 98% of the Vegas players, accuracy is everything. In this case, the SMG is the greater gun than the Assault Rifle. It may lack in firepower, but it makes up for it with ACCURACY. Range isn't an issue, as pretty much all the maps are close-medium range. When you start off, I suggest the UMP45. It has the best stopping power and is a great gun overall. But once you start ranking up, the MP7A1 is another option for you. Despite it's ratings, it tends to be MORE accurate than the UMP and also sports a higher rate of fire and a much larger clip of 41 rounds. With this you can take out multiple enemies without worrying about reloading. For sniper rifles, the headshot is the way to go. These are not from Halo, so they're not Spartan-strong. The body shot is near useless. Shotguns are nasty bastards. Not up with how the world works, they can go medium and sometimes long range. Some call them "gay." If you can use them effectively, they are teh ****. The biggest mother****er before you rank up is the XM. It's an auto shotgun that tears you apart. Despite it's ratings, I've had 1 XM round kill at the chest. Now add the other 5/6 rounds left and you've got something damn good. Unfortunately, it goes quickly so watch where you are before going rambo on somebody. It's especially great for close-combat, and medium combat is great for it too, just like the other shotguns(but they are pump.) If you don't have good one-time aim, you should go with the XM or just not use a shotgun. Pistols are mostly all the same. Add a laser sight for increased accuracy. Obviously, the silencer on any gun will reduce the stopping power of the weapon. In return, however, it adds stronger accuracy, so it's quite good for long-range fights. credit go's to SheiK

I used the MP5 to train with my accuracy then once i got the MP5 down, I went to the MP9 because my accuracy was up and it has a higher rate of fire. The MP7A1- good gun but SPRAY-AND-Pray. that is what i always got killed with. So do you actually want to be accurate or be a noob and spray and pray.

That gun is freaking awsome in the right maps... also depends on if you are playing with a team that actually works well together... when you are playing as a strong team, it's nice to carry different weapons for different situations within the same game! But that's just me and my past military experince.
